Jeff will share select war stories from his career working on various AI projects, along with crucial mistakes made and lessons learned. The talk will be as informative as it will be entertaining.
Jeff Carollo is currently a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Apple. Prior to Apple, Jeff trained the ML models responsible for ranking stories on Facebook, and also ran a team that combated election interference during the US 2020 Elections. Prior to Meta, Jeff ran major projects around language understanding at Google. Prior to Google, Jeff worked on the discovery algorithms at Pinterest. Jeff got his start on the Windows File System at Microsoft and now has two decades completed in the tech industry. He is a co-author of the book How Google Tests Software. He also has extensive start-up experience and is an active angel investor. Jeff lives in Santa Clara, California with his wife, four children, two cats, a growing flock of backyard chickens, and eight bee hives.
